Gandhi wrote extensively about vegetarianism and once said that
“I do not regard flesh-food as necessary for us at any stage and under any clime in which it is possible for human beings ordinarily to live. I hold flesh-food to be unsuited to our species. To my mind, the life of a lamb is no less precious than that of a human being. I should be unwilling to take the life of a lamb for the sake of the human body.” —
Mahatma Gandhi
October 2 is Gandhi’s birthday’s which is an excellent reason to eliminate meat from your diet, or at least skip it for the day. Whether you are motivated by a respect for the man, your compassion for animals, or, as many environmentalists are, a concern over the resource intensive nature the livestock industry, you will make a powerful statement and make one step towards being “the change you wish to see in the world.”
We dedicate this piece to Mahatma Gandhi in recognition of his work, thank you.
Imperfectly perfect, each piece is handmade from fallen leaves, dyed by hand and so every piece is unique, no two are or will ever be the same. Due to the nature of this process, design and stitching, colors may vary.
Our leaf wallets are made from fallen leaves and are PETA approved. Each piece is handmade from leaves and can take up to 6 weeks to produce depending on the season and demand, although we get hundreds of requests, we refuse to over commercialise and mass factory produce our leaf products. Please take this into consideration when ordering.
